4 Outdoor Experiences You’ll Love Near Branson

When visiting a place with natural beauty as stunning as the Ozarks, naturally you’d want to spend some time exploring the outdoors. With beautiful hues of trees in the fall, seas of green in the summer, and even wonderfully pure white snow in the winter, Branson can be a feast for the eyes. Here are 4 outdoor experiences you shouldn’t miss when you visit Stormy Point Village!

Inspiration Tower at Shepherd of the Hills

Inspiration Tower is one of Branson’s major landmarks, and it is hard to miss it. Towers 230 feet in the air, it is located on the highest point in Southwest Missouri, Inspiration Point. Ride up a glass elevator and spend some time in the observation deck looking out over the beautiful landscape. Once you’ve finished gazing upon the wonderful scenery, you can leave the tower in style! Hope over to the Vigilante Extreme ZipRider, the highest zipline in Missouri, and fly down over the scenery you just finished admiring. Coasting along at speeds of up to 50 mph, the zipline is extreme, but safe. It features an automatic braking system, so all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride!

Branson Zipline and Canopy Tours

If you wanted to plan a day while visiting Inspiration Tower, then make sure you visit the Branson Zipline and Canopy Tours in the same area. You’ll zipline from unique tree-suspended platforms experiencing even more breathtaking views along the way. These ziplines and tours are all kid and elderly friendly, so this is a perfect activity for the whole family! This is the perfect activity for getting out in the woods and among the beautiful trees of the Ozarks!

Table Rock Lake

One of the biggest draws of visiting Branson is Table Rock Lake. A part of the vast Ozark reservoir, Table Rock Lake has almost 800 miles of shoreline, perfect for finding your own little place to take a dip into its crystal waters. State Park Marina rents everything from fishing boats and wave runners to water skis and inner tubes, and the Indian Point Marina has a variety of boats including the ever-popular pontoon boats. Table Rock Lake is also nationally renowned for fishing with its large numbers of Kentucky spotted bass and white bass. Crappie and Bluegill are found in abundance as well as catfish roaming the lake’s bottom. Every year there are hundreds of regional and local tournaments held including a major B.A.S.S. tournament. There are a number of sights to see along the lake like the Talking Rocks Cavern, the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery, and even the Silver Dollar City amusement park!

Top of the Rock

Top of the Rock is one of the best locations to enjoy the sunset as it sets over the natural beauty of the Ozarks. About 10 minutes south of downtown Branson, Top of the Rock is a mecca for those who enjoy amazing views, fantastic food, and history. Have a fantastic fine-dining experience at Osage Restaurant with its beautiful patio looking out over Table Rock Lake. If you’re looking for a more casual dining experience then you can check out Arnie’s Barn, moved from the golf legend Arnold Palmer’s hometown and reassembled by Amish craftsmen, it serves up great Mexican cuisine overlooking the Ozarks. You’ll also be able to visit the Chapel of the Ozarks, a beautiful cobblestone church that presides over the lower trees and lake below, probably the most photographed place on the Top of the Rock! Don’t forget to take a golf cart tour of the Lost Canyon Cave and Nature Trail, a four-story cave with a cascading waterfall complemented by viewing balconies and a cave bar!

The Ozarks are lands full of wonderful natural beauty, and these are just few of our favorites around the Branson area. Make sure to take advantage of all the beautiful sights while in this land of wonder!
